Simply Do Startup is...

The focus of ‘Simply Do Startup’ is a six-month accelerated development programme. We have designed the programme to equip young entrepreneurs in Wales (aged 18-24) with the mindset, knowledge and practical experience to plan, build and start successful ventures. We know and care about young people in Wales and started the programme after a shed load of research into the problems faced by young people starting businesses. This made us realise that something very different was needed.

We are a not-for-profit social business aimed at making a real difference to individuals, communities and Wales. So we’re not another profit-driven startup accelerator existing to line the pockets of shareholders. We want the ‘do-ers’ and welcome applications from passionate and hard-working individuals from any background with any sort of idea.

The small print...

  • You must be aged 18-24 and not in full-time employment, education or training. This is a condition of the funding linked to the programme. However, new graduates and college leavers are very welcome to apply.

  •  Successful applicants will be employed full-time for up to 40 hours per week. There is also likely to be some work required on the business ideas during evenings and weekends.

  • You are able to earn this employment income (approximately £1000 per month for 40 hours per week) plus keep any income made from your new business. This takes some of the pressure off earning business income from day one

  • You will initially be based at our Head Office in Caerphilly which is a short stroll away from Caerphilly train station (20 minutes direct train from Cardiff Central station). However, you should be willing to work at various locations across South-East Wales. Therefore, access to your own transport would be beneficial.

  • You must be eligible to legally work in the UK. This will be verified prior to any offer of employment.

  • We operate a roll-on/roll-off system so always on the lookout for talented young people with entrepreneurial flair. Please e-mail us to be kept informed about information events and recruitment dates.
